Izbicki arrived in England a day before England declared war on Germany (WWII).
He won a scholarship to the University of Nottingham to read German and French.
As an alumni be became an editor for GONG - Gazette of Nottingham Graduates.
In 2012, he published his autobiography - ‘Life Between the Lines’
